McDonald’s has announced a new mission

Removing the artificial ingredients from its menu. Even the special Big Mac sauce will be improved.
The fast food company, which hopes to attract more health-conscious consumers, has announced changes in its most popular hamburgers

The hamburger, cheeseburger, double cheeseburger, McDouble, Quarter Pounder with cheese, Double Quarter Pounder with cheese and Big Mac – will no longer include artificial preservatives, flavors or dyes. The change affects every part of the sandwich.

McDonald’s said it stopped using the ingredients like calcium propionate, an artificial preservative, and eliminated sorbic acid – also a preservative from its American cheese. The special Big Mac sauce is also rewritten. And it removes artificial preservatives, including potassium sorbate, sodium benzoate and calcium disodium EDTA, but “without sacrificing taste,” the company said. In sandwiches, however, there is one ingredient that will not change – the cucumbers. And they contain preservatives.

“This change demonstrates our commitment to guiding our customers’ preferences and building a better McDonald’s,” said Mcdonald’s President Chris Kempchinski 

The fast food chain follows the industry’s trend towards healthy eating. Some fast-food chains such as Taco Bell, Subway and Panera Bread recently also removed the artificial ingredients from their menu. In 2016, McDonald’s eliminated artificial preservatives from McNuggets and corn high in fructose. Earlier this year, the company replaced frozen beef with fresh beef to add more healthy options to your Happy Meal menu, such as milk.
