A new Crystal Ball Frappuccino is launching later this week, and it’s said to have the same winning formula as the popular unicorn one.
What is Starbucks’ Crystal Ball Frappuccino?
Baristas are already buzzing about the new Crystal Ball Frapp, which launches TODAY(March 22).
As it stands, Starbucks only plans to sell the drink until the end of the week, or until supplies run out.
It’s a peach-flavoured drink, with marbled turquoise blue swirls, and is topped with whipped cream and rock candy crystals.
Pictures of the new drink have been shared on social media.
The new drink is VERY Instagram friendly, and it’s thought company bosses are trying to recreate the hype we saw around last year’s Unicorn Frapp.
Frapp sales have slumped over the past two years, according to Business Insider, although Starbucks CFO Scott Maw said the unicorn drinks were a big sales driver.
A mystical, swirling peach infusion topped with peach flavored whipped cream, turquoise sprinkles and one of three different candy gems that reveal your fortune (not even your barista knows what your future holds). Order, gaze, then all will be told. And while we can’t predict what your gems will reveal, we can tell you this drink is only here for a few short days.
Could this be that promised product? It appears so, and hopefully it’s not the last one.
But beware, if this drink is anything like the popular unicorn version, it’s going to contain A LOT of sugar.
The Unicorn Frapp was primarily composed of whole milk, whipped cream and different syrups – amounting to 59 grams of sugar, that’s 19g MORE than the NHS recommended daily allowance.
