Turkish Data Protection Service said on Friday it had imposed a Facebook fine of 1.65 million Turkish lira ($ 270,976.01) in April due to violations of consumers’ personal data.
The regulator quotes a Facebook statement in December that says the company has detected an error that allows third parties to access Facebook user photos. According to the Commission, about 300,000 users in Turkey may have been affected by this data breach.
She also said the problem happened before but it was for 12 days in September last year, and Facebook, which does not interfere in time, shows that there are shortcomings in the technical safeguards on the issue.
